Animation Timeline

My favourite animation is a show called The Simpsons. The Simpsons is a animation show created by Matt Groening for FX network television in December 1989 and since then has made 521 shows. The Simpsons has lasted over 25 years due to its relative humour.



Windsor McCoy 1903
Know for Gertie the Dinosaur

He then drew his subject midway between his split and an extreme, and continued drawing

For gertie the Dinosaur Windsor toured around the world going from different theatre having to redraw the background again.



Pat Sullivan 1916
Felix the cat created in 1916 which is a silent movie about a cat called felix in 2002, TV Guide ranked Felix the Cat number 28 on its "50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time


Walt Disney
Steam boat willy (1928)
Drawn and had voice over by Walt disney. The cartoon introduced mickey mouse
The production of Steamboat Willie took place between July and September 1928 with an estimated budget of $4,986.

Know for Bagpuss
Oliver Postgate was a puppeteer and a animator.

Matt Gronening  1977

Went on to create some of the most popular animation in The Simpsons
Groening made his first professional cartoon sale of Life in Hell  1978. 


Nick Park 1985
Know for his claymation technique went on to create Wallace and Gromit some of the greatest animation of the 20 century. Chicken Run came out in 2000 hoping to bring claymation to a new generation.

Mike Judge 1990
Know for its Adult comedy on the network MTV
Also created King Of The Hill

Seth McFarlane  1995
Know For FamilyGuy
American Dad
Seth Mc Farlane is my favourite animator due to the show family guy. Family guy is made for teenagers and adults. The stereotypical animation is normally for children Seth McFarlane tried to break the stereotype and was massive with world wide success in Family guy

Trey Parker and Matt stone.
South Park

South Park was created with animation made from paper cutouts with stop motion.
